Hi, I'm Samantha

I am the face & breeder behind FoxFire Beagles. From the age of 6 I knew that I wanted to be a breeder. It's no surprise that when I finally took the plunge into the fancy of purebred dogs that it became my absolute soul passion in life.

I'm incredibly passionate not only about Beagles but educating the public on the importance of ethical breeders and preservation of our beloved purebred dogs. I devote countless hours a day researching, writing posts/stories for my social media and raising my own hounds. I live and breathe purebred dogs (especially Beagles) and I find so much joy not only breeding, raising and competing with my Beagles but sharing my experience.

I am blessed to not only spend my day to day life with these silly little hounds but to be able to share them with wonderful families all across North America. Truly any Puppy home of mine becomes part of the family and I adore being a part of each FoxFire Beagle from the second I whelp them all the way into their senior years. The 'Fox' in FoxFire

In 2015 I bought my first Beagle from Windkist Beagles in Utah and affectionately named this little firecracker "Fox". From getting into anything he could to being a complete terror, he not only ignited my love for the Breed, he found a permanent spot in my heart.

Although he would never be the show dog I hoped, we did (and Do!) everything else together. From Rally to obedience to agility to barnhunt and scent detection - there is NOTHING this little tri-coloured dog can't do. He's taught me invaluable lessons from how to handle his mischievous ways to the importance of being a good sport and competitor in and out of the show/performance ring

Fox was neutered at two years of age and although he would never directly be included in my breeding program, he deserved to be an important part in it. Thus, "FoxFire" was born, a kennel named after this fiery, hilarious little hound with a love for life (and snacks) like no other.

It was this little hound who taught me something important when it comes to owning this breed and all their quirks and that is to have a sense of humour, always.

My Breeding Program

Mission

My ultimate goal for my breeding program is to produce sound beagles of beautiful type, gentle expression, effortless sound moving dogs with a rock solid temperament - whether it be for the performance ring, show ring or a family home. My commitment is to every dog I breed for its entire lifetime.

Beagles are my love and passion, not a business. They are and forever will be the centre-part of my home. I do expect each and every puppy I place in their forever homes to have the care they would have with me - if not better.

Vision

My long-term goal for my breeding program is to preserve the breed as we know and love it. As a Preservation Breeder, my goal is to take the guesswork out of your next dog's history, health, predicted size, temperament, and life expectancy. I have a lifelong commitment to each and every Beagle I bring in to this world and will take any of my dogs back for any reason at any time.

For those who share a strong passion for the Breed as I do, I am always willing to serve as a mentor and guide throughout the dog's life as my owners navigate through dog ownership. I am purely dedicated to breeding solely for the purpose of preserving and protecting the original purpose and function of the breed by creating companions that are healthy, of sound body and mind, and predictable in nature.

Core Values

For every single puppy I have brought into this world and raised in my home to be provided with the utmost care and attention. I begin Puppy Culture/Avidog rearing with the pups right from birth with Early Neurological Stimulation, ESI and enrichment exercises and continue on with this program during their entire time with me.

To Have all my breeding stock whether it be my own or a stud dog be extensively health tested before breeding and pedigrees carefully researched before chosen.

To breed beautiful, true specimens of the breed to the best of my ability with utmost priority placed on temperament and breeding to the breed standard set by the Beagle Club of Canada.

To screen homes as best I can and only place puppies in homes I feel would provide the level of care, love and commitment I provide with my own dogs.

To be a valuable resource, support or mentor to my Puppy Owners for the entire lifetime of their puppy.
